Outlast Audio is a platform offering on-demand audio support from licensed mental health professionals, providing users with a library of audio content focused on various emotional and mental health challenges. This WordPress-based website was built with a focus on accessibility, user experience, and scalability.
To achieve these goals, we utilized WordPress as the CMS, leveraging the power of PHP for back-end development. WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions were integrated to manage the subscription services, allowing users to seamlessly subscribe to and access the audio content. For the audio functionality, we implemented the MP3 Audio Player by Sonaar, which offers a smooth and user-friendly interface for audio playback.
A Custom Theme was developed based on the Bootscore boilerplate theme, using a customized Bootstrap 5.3 version to ensure a responsive and visually appealing design. In addition to the custom theme, several Must Use Plugins were created to add core features and functionalities specific to Outlast Audio’s requirements, enhancing both performance and the overall user experience.

A significant portion of the development involved creating custom functionalities to support the unique needs of the platform. The Must Use Plugins developed are used to provide the data structures (post types, fields), and several additional features required for the website’s functionality.
Additionally, the customization of the Bootstrap 5.3 framework allowed for a highly responsive design that caters to various devices and screen sizes, ensuring that users have a consistent experience whether they are on a desktop or mobile device, while thoroughly following the website’s unique design and color schemes.
